Update: Danae Hoppe

August 21st, 2010 I got married to Mark Hoppe in Grand Rapids, MI.
He proposed to me on April 2nd, 2010 at Reeds Lake in East Grand Rapids. It was soooooo wonderful and perfect! Engagement is a wonderful season, but planning a wedding can be crazy!
I brainstormed all my ideas into a painting, 3 days after Mark proposed. . Some men don't participate with wedding planning, but Mark came along my side and helped me make all of it happen. We combined our ideas into an amazing, memorable wedding!!!

Andrew Ripp is on the far left. Mark and I started talking at one of his concert. Andrew covered this song our first dance, The Way You Look Tonight. To hear the song Andrew Ripp played for the "Father Daughter Dance", click on this website: The Rain is Gone.

Lighting, Music and Memories!
These three elements were the direction for the wedding event. I thought this was a great time to practice some design skills. My day to day job does not involve space planning, lighting, setting the mood with music and event planning. And with the timing of everything, I did not start my full time job yet, so there was a lot of time in the beginning of wedding planning for brainstorming and research. Once my full time job started at Enwork, the wedding planning was shifted to Mark.
The lighting Design was originally planned by myself, and then I called in some contract work from Dale Mowry, my father. This is his floorplan in the evening.
All the design details came together :) I will upload more photos very soon!

Turn a base on its side and... Cello!!! "Jack Black"

East Kentwood High School has a creative note on how to raise money for their fine arts department. They take in instruments that are past their prime and turn them into master pieces painted by local artists. May 5th, the high school will be performing classical music for the evening. After the show, all the guests proceed into the lobby where they can view the instruments. A live auctioneer will be present taking bids. One hundred... do I hear 125?...
All the proceeds go to the fine arts program at East Kentwood, continuing education of all the arts, (music, vocal, painting, ceramic...)
I am thankful to participate in this event. Please enjoy the below.

Africa

retrieving my sketchbook, and a box of left over color pencils I never use, the attached is the results.
I first sketched the entire drawing with a mechanical pencil never lifting it from the page. One continuous line.
I used only what was in this abandoned box. The color brown was only the tip of a color pencil that's body was missing. Only the lead was to be found. Fluorescent yellow, orange and blue made their debut.
Questioning why I put so many rules in my head on how I should achieve this sketch, the end result pleases me though it was challenging!
